Cultural Heritage Coloring Pages for Immigrant Families

A 6-year-old asks why grandma cooks rice a different way than the school cafeteria does. A 9-year-old wants to know why dad's passport has a different color cover than everyone else's at show-and-tell. These are the small, constant questions that come with growing up between two cultures, and they deserve better answers than "I'll explain when you're older."
Crayons are a surprisingly good way to start that conversation. Coloring gives a kid something to do with their hands while the harder questions about where they come from get worked out out loud, at the kitchen table, with nobody feeling put on the spot.
